The Public Health Association of Nebraska (PHAN) is accepting proposals for concurrent and workshop sessions for the 2011 Annual PHAN Conference. Proposal applications are due May 6, 2011 at 5:00 P.M. CT All entries MUST be submitted via e-mail. PHAN cannot guarantee that proposals submitted after that date will be considered.
The “Proposal Information Sheet” provides information on the session proposal process. The “Proposal Application” is the fill-in form that will be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 6 at 5:00 P.M. CT.

Your organization is invited to be a Sponsor of the Public Health Association of Nebraska Annual Conference. Sponsors are invited to contribute at different levels. Your contribution will help us maintain a high quality of speakers at our conferences. Sponsors will be named in conference materials. If you prefer, you can specify sponsoring a speaker, break, meal or the reception.
Would you like to be a Conference Exhibitor? Each year we schedule registration and breaks in the Exhibit area so conference participants can visit the Exhibit Booths. The deadline to apply as an Exhibitor is September 23, 2011.
Do you know an outstanding public health student, practitioner or advocate? Perhaps you know an individual, agency, organization or business contributing to the development of good public health practice in Nebraska. If so, PHAN is asking you to submit nomination(s) for the following award program categories.

The Public Health Association of Nebraska is soliciting entries for a Poster Session, to be held at PHAN’s Annual Conference in Kearney on October 13 and 14. Poster themes must address important public health issues that reflect the 2011 conference theme. Preference will be given to research projects that reflect data related to public health.
Deadline for entry is September 23, 2011
The Public Health Association of Nebraska is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for student members interested in furthering their education in preparation for a career in public health. One $500 scholarship will be awarded at the PHAN Annual Conference in Grand Island to a student in a public health-related field. Deadline for entry is September 23, 2011

Conference Details –
The Public Health Association of Nebraska (PHAN) exists to protect and promote personal, community and environmental health throughout a variety of public health networks.
PHAN exercises leadership in public health policy development and advocacy, provides a forum for the discussion of emerging public health issues, and enhances the professional growth of members and other public health professionals across the state.
The purpose of this conference is to provide public health professionals with the information, skills, and resources to advocate for opportunities to improve public health in their communities.

In keeping with the Americans with Disabilities Act, PHAN will make every effort to accommodate participants with special needs. Please contact us with your specific needs.
An application will be summitted to an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation for nursing contact hours.
Conference cancellations will be honored with a full refund through October 7, 2011. After that time we will not be able to issue refunds but we will accept substitutions.
